Eric's beautiful painting, "The Last Embrace", has been nominated for an award by Spectrum, 19. Spectrum is the annual directory of "Fantastic" art and illustration. Eric's has been selected as a finalist for the Gold or Silver Medal in the Unpublished art category. Kudos and good luck to Eric.

Arlen Schumer

We are pleased to welcome Arlen Schumer to the group. Arlen, formerly of Dynamic Duo Studios, has a comic book/graphic novel style. Arlen was featured in a June 2010 episode of ABC-TV's 20/20 which discussed the TV special, "Superhumans", for which he did the graphics.

Zak will be representing the state of Wyoming at the National Book Festival in Washington DC. The festival on the Mall takes place September 24th and 25th. If you are in town, come check it out. It's a great event.

Race to the South Pole

If you happen to be in the DC area between May 25th and August 21, 2011, stop by the National Geographic Society's museum to check out the exhibit, "Race To The End Of The Earth". Promotional artwork for the exhibit was created by Val Bochkov.

2010 National Print Azbees - Design Award Winners

Congratulations to Rob Johnson. His illustration for Lawn and Landscape magazine helped win the Silver Prize in the 2010 National Print Azbee Awards for Best Opening Page or Spread. The Azbees are the American Society of Business Publication Editors awards. Great work!!

Washington Area Addy Awards

Val Bochkov was afforded the honor of being selected to create artwork for the 2011 Addy Awards. The ADDY Awards is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition. His illustration of St. Bernadine (Patron Saint of Advertising and Public Relations) will be used in all promotional materials for this year's competition.

Ralph Butler's Lecture Series

Starting in February, Ralph will begin a lecture series on the Art Of Illustration, "Looking At Words".
The series will continue from Feb., to June at the Progress Energy Art Gallery, New Port Richey, FL. It's the history of American Illustration from Remington to the present.
